I’ve been playing around with these blushes for the past few weeks and I still can’t quite get over how pigmented they are. Having worked in a big department store for a good percentage of last year I kind of became accustomed to high-end products (that’s short for ‘I was a snob’), but lately I’ve been obsessing over high street brands. At £2.99 for the Blush and Brush and £3.99 for the Baked Box, you really can’t go wrong. I apply them under my base for a natural pop of colour.

First off, I don’t have an iPad, second, I never even wear red, but somehow this clutch found it’s way into my wardrobe and into my heart. Having been an avid reader of Elle UK since before time began (or at least, before I even knew about the likes of Karl Lagerfeld or Anna Wintour was) it was kind of inevitable that I loved the clutch that their Senior Fashion Editor designed for Next. Right now it’s filled to the brim with cosmetics and travel cards, but who knows, maybe an iPad might find it’s way in there too.

Which could possibly explain my bitch face and anger stance. I’d like to make the excuse that it’s ‘just how my face looks’ but in this case I am completely guilty of a moody appearance, possibly due to the fact that I am indeed hanging out around some recycling bins or more likely because I am dying for a holiday. Ten years have gone by without a vacation but, all is not lost, Costa Blanca is calling and I only have to put up with another three weeks of fake tan (and biscuit smells) until I can actually get some of that thing called sun, because England sure didn’t get the memo that it’s Spring. Alas, until that day arrives I guess I’ll just walk around in sunglasses and vacation tees and I’ll work on that smiling thing as well - next time, promise!

I’m a really fickle person. I change my mind on things hourly and even tend to forget whether or not I liked something, and I’m definitely one of those girls that constantly hunt for that non-existent thing called perfection. I’ll admit it, I’m a skincare hoarder - I probably have something for every skin qualm imaginable (exhibit A being my boy, who gets lathered in millions of products every time he passingly mentions that he has even the slightest pimple.) but obviously, enough is never enough. Masks are by far my favourite thing, whether they do the job or not I love sitting there with horrific gunk on my face, looking like a monster from one of those awful retro horror films. First things first, I like to keep it natural.

INLIGHT ORGANIC SUPER-FOOD FACE MASK
Utterly sludgy and brilliant. Glides on the face into an almost oily texture (note: you will look terrifying) and washes off easily, leaving me with skin that’s soft and cooled. Perfect for breakouts.

NEALS YARD POWER BERRY FACIAL MASK
Smells amazing and feels exactly like jam - I use it when my skin’s feeling a bit dry and lack-lustre. Once applied, leave for 10 minutes and gently wash off with water. The jam-like texture turns into a really milky cleanser and the berry pieces mildly scrub off any nasty bits. I use it when I’m in a bit of a rush.

MURAD POMEGRANATE EXFOLIATING MASK
Although I am prone to using manual exfoliants, I do prefer lighter options. This mask sits on my face for a few minutes and gently works at exoliating my dead skin without me having to lift a finger - be warned, it tingles a bit, but in the best way possible. Once removed, I’m left with seriously soft, healthy looking skin. The best smelling one of the lot!

Once my face has finished being doused in slime and gels, I’ll head on over to moisturisers and creams as a finishing touch - it’s no wonder I take so long in the mornings..

LA ROCHE-POSAY EFFACLAR DUO
A massive cult-favourite for beauty bloggers that actually works! Pushes all of the dirt out of your face (I saw it happening over a few days..nasty stuff) and leaves you with clearer pores and less congestion. Does a good job of moisturising too!

SELEXIR PEACE BALM
It look me a while to get on with this product purely because I wasn’t sure what it really did until the press release hit me two weeks later. Literally does everything from your under-eyes to your knees, but I mostly prefer it on dry skin and blemishes. Kicks 8 Hour Cream’s ass (sorry Liz).

CAUDALIE SOS MORNING EYE RESCUE
Saves my life (and your stomachs) every morning. Without this I wouldn’t wake up! Really cools the eye area and keeps it moisturised at the same time. Completely non-greasy.

I guess you could either call me completely accustomed to the English weather or just completely out of my mind, or I forgot to put the rest of my clothes on. All feasible options, but as it happens I was understandably freezing and I was in fact aware of how I was dressing when leaving the house, which reignites the issue of my insanity. This was one of those ‘let’s see what outfit I can throw together in 30 seconds’ occasions, and it appears as though consideration of comfort and warmth didn’t happen in that period of time, but I still managed to give myself a matching manicure. Here’s a little tip, when going for a walk along the harbour, try to refrain from wearing a mesh hot pants and crop top combo, because your boyfriend will get annoyed at your persistent whining.

Spring came and went (at least for the time being) but I refuse to cover up until my pasty shins get a layer of colour to them. If that sunshine pops out for even a minute my legs are posed and ready for a toastin’ - or more likely a slightly warm breeze that still results in me goose bumping like crazy. Did I mention I’m a weather-wimp? I’ve wanted a polo shirt for so long after finally getting over the memory of my old sports uniform back in school, and in true rebellious-youth fashion, I undid my top button and said ‘screw you’ to the system. What system? I’m not sure what I’m talking about either, but I feel badass.

Although my skin has decided to go a bit wild the past few months, it’s generally pretty good to me. After getting the odd spot or two I decided to try out that ‘drinking water’ thing everyone seems to be doing and shockingly enough, so far so good! I mean who said 400 cups of tea a day isn’t healthy? Anyway, the only issue I ever seem to have with my skin is the bags under my eyes. As I’ve mentioned before I may as well twist my neck around, make hooting noises and become an owl because I’m that nocturnal - oh internet, you are addictive. Apart from my trusty Garnier roll-on and my Caudalie Morning SOS eye cream, the only thing helping my panda eyes right now is the Tara Walker’s Dream Eye Serum. It’s light weight, brightening and full of natural goodies and most importantly, let’s me surf the internet at 4am without any puffiness the next day. Dreamy. (Too far?)

You know, it takes a lot of effort and hard work for me to be this social and utterly hilarious on a daily basis. Okay, so it takes zero work and my idea of hilarious is probably better classified as socially awkward and erratic, but anyway, I love a good relaxing evening. I’m the sort of girl that would prefer to spend money on shoes rather than soap because I could never get my head around why people would spend so much money on something to wash all your dirt off. The answer? Relaxation people!! I got to test-drive this handy gift set from NEOM and I was sold at the first sniff of the bath oil. The set comes with the Tranquility bath & shower oil, the Sensuous body wash and lotion and the most amazing smelling Bliss hand cream that reeks of rose in the best possible way. Needless to say, after a hard day editing photos and filling up on toast, I emerged from the tub pink-faced and more relaxed that I’ve been in months. Guess I’ll have to start buying cheaper shoes.

BUTTER LONDON LIPPY HEN PARTY | TEA WITH THE QUEEN | THE OLD BILL*

I love butter on my toast (approx. half a stick on each slice), butter on my nails and now butter on my lips, naturally. I’ve loved the butter LONDON nail polish formulation since day one so when I was offered a trio of their lip glosses for review I couldn’t exactly say no. I’ll admit it now, glosses are my least favourite thing in terms of makeup and I can count the amount I have on just three fingers, so if your math skills are as extensive as mine you’ll realise that these are the only ones I own. Bonus point if you show you workings out.

Hen Party is a semi-sheer shimmer gloss with an almost caramel-like tone and is perfect over the top of neutral lipsticks. The Old Bill is the darkest of the three colours and is a more opaque gloss that I found worked best when lightly patted onto the lips - it’s more of a hot chocolate colour. My favourite had to be Tea With The Queen which was the shade that fell right in between the others - it almost perfectly matches my natural lip colour and I’ve been wearing it on a few of my most recent outfit posts, again, just pat a little onto the lips for a perfect day look (if I do say so myself). The texture of the glosses are so balm-like as opposed to a horrible gloopy mess - even my wild mane didn’t get stuck to my lips (!) and the smell..oh God the smell..it’s like vanilla cake. Yep, it’s that hat that literally everyone and their dog seems to have - with the exception of my pooch (who prefers more understated headwear). I originally bought it to confirm how much I hated it: the plan was to purchase, insult and swiftly return, but instead it was more like one of those Disney moments when the ugly sister puts on a crown and all the doves and singing mice make a load of noise and a harmonising choir come out of no where and gold sparkles fall from the sky..you know? Basically, I liked it. We’re friends now. You may also be wondering where this transition into colour came from, I mean lilac? Really? As it happens, yes really.

I’ve owned a few Uniqlo shirts in the past - monochrome only of course - and they still remain my favourite to date, probably because mine seem to require very little ironing (which I refuse to do, if you haven’t already noticed) and come in too many nice colours, not that I ever branch out. I spotted this stripy, spring-y specimen (nothing like a bit of alliteration on a Friday morning) and after convincing myself to not pick up yet another white one, this little guy found his way onto my doorstep. I guess yesterday was all about trying new things, and I like it. As it happens, so did the very creepy old man (who persisted to call me a sexy lady for a good 10 minutes of my day). Thanks buddy!

I’m not sure if it’s something that hit me since I technically became an adult (even though I refuse to admit the fact that I’m no longer 19 and will forever continue to do so) but over the past few months I’ve grown more fond of ‘arm parties’ - more commonly known as a shed-load of jewellery. After plotting to sell my MK watch because I apparently didn’t need more than one watch, I’ve found a swift replacement in the form of this equally mannish guy from Pandora..if you hadn’t already guessed by the name of this post.

Whilst browsing around I may have also added some pieces of jewellery to my ever-growing mental wishlist. Much like my MK watch, I doubt they’ll ever be worn, but should they ever happen to appear in my jewellery box one way or another (hint) I sure won’t be complaining.

There’s nothing better than a street style photo featuring pedestrians looking at you like a complete weirdo - if you ask me, it’s a bit of an art, then again I’m biased towards my boyfriend’s photos. After my last outfit post I think it’s safe to say that my knees and thighs are now perfectly accustomed to the British weather, although I’m not sure my ‘admirers’ below are quite used to it just yet..although it may have been the shorts they were checking out.
