DIY Pom Pom Bikini

DIY Pom Pom Bikini - How to make a pom pom bikini

I'm one of those people that have a dream wardrobe in mind, so when it comes to actually shopping I always get disappointed when I come across the perfect pair of trainers that has one lace hole too many. Or if the laces are 1mm thicker than I'd like to be. Or if - you get it. I'm crazy. I like specifics. So when I got my heart set on a very specific pom pom bikini (damn you,

Pinterest) that apparently didn't exist in the real world, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own. And since Stylist Magazine were just so impressed with my sheer haberdashery skills and domestic goddess-mess (lol) they decided to film the whole thing too! Now please, brace yourselves for the best sewing skills you've ever seen..

How to do it:

1. Run the pom pom trim across the bikini edge
2. Trim to size (leave extra to account for stretch)
3. Pin down the trim to secure into place
4. Carefully sew the trim to the bikini
5. Tie a knot in the end to secure the trim
6. Cut the thread and voila!

You will need:

1 bikini of your choice
Pom pom trim
Matching thread
A sewing needle
Pins (to secure fabric)
A pair of scissors

The best swimsuits for every budget

The best swim suits and bikinis for every budget highstreet

The phrase 'bikini weather' gives me a multitude of emotions. First, I get excited at the prospect of being able to go outside in less than seven layers of knitwear (I say prospect, because let's face it, when do I ever leave my house), then I become hopeful that maybe, just maybe, this will be the year that I get that 'bikini body' I've been dreaming of for years. And then..then I see all of the ice creams and cocktails that suddenly become available and I think ,you know what, maybe I'll just stick to a one piece this year.

To me, a one piece has always meant boob squishing Lycra that makes me look like a penguin. In fact, that's probably an insult to the poor penguins of the world. But anyway. For some reason it never seems to

compute with me that, actually, swimwear
might just have improved slightly since my school swimming lessons. And whilst I absolutely have nothing against penguins, they're not my animal of choice when it comes to how I want to look this summer. A super sexy gazelle with legs for days, sure. Or maybe just someone that doesn't look like they're concealing twins after an innocent bakery blow out. Is that too much to ask?

No, no it isn't. And thankfully, the high street has caught on to this whole flattering swimwear situ too (seriously, what took you so long, British high street?) and so naturally I've picked out some of the best swim suits so that you too can eat five million baked goods without anyone being able to tell. Goals AF.

What to wear to a festival

Today appears to be very festival focussed, but with lots of exciting things filtering through my inbox over the next few months I can't help but get excited. And so instead of doing, well, anything, I've been doing what I do best in the form of cyber shopping. I recently rekindled my love for Lyst and - with that - I've wound up with a wish list as long as my arm (and trust me, my arms are lanky). So, instead of just reeling off all of my favourite things for you guys I've decided to d a mini festival 'what I would wear' in hopes that karma will work in my favour and these babies will magically appear in my wardrobe. A girl can dream, right?

Primark Holiday Haul & Try On

I used to be such a die-hard Primark fan. Seriously, whenever I mention anything regarding Primark to my Mum she reminds me of that time I spent five hours in one (embarrassingly small) Primark store. There was entire shopping centre to explore, and I'm pretty sure I spent the entire day buying copious amounts of cheap pants and pyjamas. I literally re-visited that same shop about five times that day.

Now don't get me wrong, I still love that crazy shop, only these days I'm a lot more speedy when it comes to filling up my basket. I am still partial to a few pants and PJ sprees when the feeling's right though. Don't worry, there's no try on panty parades in this video. And if you were looking for that sort of thing..you're probably on the wrong part of the internet.

So anyway, a few weeks ago I found myself grazing the aisles of Primark in preparation for my upcoming holiday to Turkey (FYI: Whilst you're reading this, I'll be on said holiday, potentially starfishing by the pool) and - since I bought a fair few things - I decided to haul the hell out of it over on my Youtube channel. You know the drill. Let me know what your favourite piece was and (shameless plug) make sure you hit that subscribe button!

The Missguided Holiday Edit

Whilst you're reading this I'm going to be - most likely - half asleep in the passenger seat of Ollie's car on my way to Gatwick airport, because, ahem, we're going to Turkey baby! After three years of University I finally decided that it was time to book a little get away for me and the boy. Turns out, that despite a few weekend trips away, this is actually going to be my first relaxing holiday in almost four years, and the first holiday Ollie and I have had together. Now my pale skin (and general exhaustion) makes sense!

I couldn't be more excited to go, and I couldn't be more excited for sun (hello, 32 degrees). Ever since finishing uni the most amount of studying I've been doing has been on the new-in section of Missguided. I'm almost certain that about 94% of my suitcase is filled with new season MG, and I have no regrets. I also have no room left in my case for any souvenirs (sorry mum). So to fuel my recent holiday shopping obsession I've decided to do an edit of my favourite pieces from Missguided this season, in hopes that I can vicariously live through all of your purchases (and get them on sale when I come back to the UK in eight days time). Click the images and they'll take you straight to the product! You're welcome.

Now of course, a relaxing holiday means no laptop, but - let's face it - I'm going to be snapchatting and Instagramming my life away over there. #HotDogsOrLegs all day, every day. For seven days, at least.

I've got some posts queued up for you lovely guys and gals over the next week or so, but if you want to stalk me in real-time then be sure to add me on Instagram (@cocochicblog) and Snapchat (cocochicblog) for all the fun. And please, make sure I don't forget my passport!
