My top picks from the Beauty Event

Very is a website that I've visited way more times than my bank balance deems acceptable.Whenever I'm on the look out for new products (or I'm just looking for an opportunity to procrastinate, ahem) I often find myself scrolling through their beauty section for inspiration. Every year, Very hold two Beauty Events focussing on various offers and product launches, and so to celebrate the Very Autumn/Winter Beauty Event I've teamed up with Very to give you the low-down on some of their latest and greatest beauty and skincare products.

The Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Serum is something I've been trying out over the past few weeks and - so far - I really love how it makes my skin look and feel. Murad products have always been a part of my every day skincare routine, so I had high expectations before trying this out. I've been using this every other night before my usual night cream and I've noticed my skin actually looks a lot smoother and glowing - something I always tend to struggle with when it comes to my skin. I've seen some pretty crazy before and after pictures with this stuff, so I'm excited to see what it can do!

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation used to be my absolute favourite back in the day, but as my makeup collection grew it slowly got pushed to the back of my foundation drawer (yes I have a foundation drawer, yes I have a problem). As soon as I started buffing the foundation into my skin I remembered exactly why I loved it so much.  It's a medium coverage, blendable, dewy base that - as the name would suggest - gives you a really natural healthy glow whilst covering all of your imperfections. I don't even feel the need to wear concealer when I'm wearing this day to day!

When it comes to mascaras I tend to set my standards quite high. I want a plastic wand (because they're my favourite) I want volume, I want length and I want a good curl. If the formula's extra black, that's a plus too. Since the Rimmel Wonder'fully Real Mascara is quite affordable, I wasn't expecting amazing things, but as soon as I tried it I knew it was going to become one of my new holy grail items. In just one swipe, my lashes were thick, long and with just the right amount of clump. I used the colour Extreme Black, but it also comes a few other shades as well!

As someone that practically lives in super matte liquid lipsticks. a moisturising product like Elizabeth Arden's Plush Up Lipstick in Cherry Up is a welcomed break for me and my parched lips. The glossy, fuss-free formula means you can just swipe it over your lips without any liner or prep, so it's perfect for an easy every day makeup look. I love wearing bright pinks, oranges and reds during the summer months as I feel they really lift my skin when I'm wearing minimal makeup. This is definitely going in my carry on on my next trip away.
