Look Fantastic Beauty Box - May

look fantastic beauty box may

So, I just woke up. Oops. Last night I was up until around 4am attempting to power through all of my work for the next few weeks, and you know what? Today I'll be doing the exact same thing. I wish I had something exciting to update you all with, but unfortunately all my life revolves around right now is University coursework, working and blogging. Hey, that sounds like a good idea for one of my next posts. How to juggle a full time job, University and blogging. What do you think? Seriously, I'll do anything to distract me from this pile of work.

Anyway! I received this box from LookFantastic a little while ago, and since I've finally gotten around to using a few of the products I thought I may as well pop up a quick SPOILER ALERT (!!) and review whilst you can still get your hands on it. And, you know, anything to distract me from this essay.

The LookFantastic beauty box is probably my favourite out of all the other subscription boxes on the market right now. I feel like - as someone who leans more to skincare-y type things than colourful makeup - it's more suited to things I'd actually go out and buy, as opposed to eyeshadow quads and neon coloured liners that I'd never really get much use out of. They cost £15 including postage and packing (which is pretty good if you ask me) but you can also buy different subscription plans depending on how long you wanna treat yourself for. Forever pls.

This month's box is probably my favourite so far, quite possibly due to the big bottle of TanWorx fake tan by Monu Skincare (worth £10) and the sample pot of the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm (worth £4.60). And that ridiculously cute bottle of the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil (worth £4.20). And don't even get me started on that Christophe Robin Regenerating Hair Mask (worth £10). Okay okay, I pretty much love everything in this freakin' box.

The May box also comes with a set of pre-glued Eylure false lashes (worth £5.25) and a sample of the Erno Laszlo Transphuse Night Serum (worth £11.51). I'm pretty much up to my eye balls in serums right now, but hey, a girl can never have too much skincare, right? As for the lashes..if you haven't already noticed by now I'm a bit of a hairy-faced kinda gal. Let me re-phrase that. I basically have long eyelashes anyway. Either way, sometimes it's fun to experiment with different types of beauty bits, and considering that these are already pre-glued I'd imagine they're fairly fool proof. Failing that, I'll just glue them to Ollie in his sleep and/or give them away to a friend.

Forty of the May boxes also contain a god Curve worth £110. I'm not one of the lucky forty, so obviously I'm all jealous and stuff if you are. But yeah, I guess that's pretty cool too. Boys and gals that also pre-order the June box will receive a sample of the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask - AKA that mask that pretty much every beauty blogger in the world raves about. Can I has?

What do you think of this month's box?

Royally Good Birchbox review

Birchbox Royally Good April 2015
Birchbox Royally Good April 2015

Mail generally gets me really excited - like, even the junk mail - so you can only imagine my joy when the April Birchbox came flying through my letter box. And when I found out that this month's edition included not five, but six beauty products? Gurl (..or boy), don't even get me started.

Now, I don't tend to follow the royal family all that much (both literally and metaprhoically) but it turns out that Kate Middleton is due to pop with baby number two any day now, which is exactly what Birchbox is celebrating this month by putting some of their favourite products on a pedestal. And they are..

Laura Mercier Eye Pencil in Violet (£18.00)

If there's one brand that will tempt me to try coloured liner, it's probably going to be Laura Mercier. I've loved the black liner for years, so I know for a fact that this baby is going to be just as good - the fact that it's a mini size as well means it's perfect for on the go. I've heard violet liner can make brown eyes pop too. Oh the temptation!

Lola Barcelona Nail Polish in Garcia (£7.50)

Granted, I've never tried a nail polish from Lola Barcelona (who are apparently exclusive to Birchbox) but - and it may just be my excitement for summer talking - but this pinky coral colour looks like it would be perfect for my tanned tootsies. If they ever do get tanned, that is.

Percy & Reed London No Oil Oil (£14.00)

Ahh, oils. The one word in haircare that get I can actually get excited about - even if they're not actually an oil, as Percy and Reed seem to claim. As with everything else from the brand, this baby smells amazing, and I'm way too excited to get it in my mop.

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash (£19.50)

Give something a dual purpose, and I'm all ears. This Bliss face wash  not only smells good enough to eat (although I wouldn't recommend it) but it also does a damn good job at giving me squeaky clean skin. It also helps to get rid of dead skin cells. Score.

Korres Bergamot Pear Showergel (£8.00)

I already have so many of these Korres travel minis floating around my stash, but I still get excited every time a new scent pops up. Shower gel? It's pretty much all the same to me, just so long as it smells good. And this one? It so does.

Inner Me Energise Me (£10.00)

I don't always trust health supplements that come with beauty boxes, but I'm a huge. huge fan of Inner Me products. If these little pills actually give me energy, then you can expect a big thumbs up from me! PS. The packaging's pretty too.

Will you be picking up this month's box?
