SO FAR this year Alexander Wang has had me wearing painted sweaters, leather culottes and now stomach-showing shirts. To say I'm a slave to fashion is probably - and embarassingly - the understatement of the century (although I'll never be converted to those leather gloves). But hey, HashtagBloggerLyf and all that. I probably lose a few internet points for not actually selling my home for his Spring 2014 PJ-suits, but here's hoping the Google Gods will forgive me. If all it takes to be on trend this season is a pair of Birks, some pyjama shorts and a few undone buttons then consider me sold..but don't expect me to pay full price.
The sun has been out for the past three days now - I think that must be a new record. To celebrate, I decided to throw on one of my first dresses of the year in the form of this Abercrombie long sleeve that arrived a few days ago. Remember my last wardrobe adventure with A+F jeans? Turns out they also make some great quality, nicely priced dresses too - with a very flattering fit if I do say so myself. There were so many choices on the site (jersey, lace, knit - you name it) that I wound up choosing a few other pieces to help me settle into spring too, including a light-washdenim shirt and woven shift dress. Not a piece of leather or black in sight ladies and gentlemen. Which begs the question: am I finally becoming the girly girl my grandmother always wanted me to be? Probably not. The legs might be out but the messy hair and biker jackets will never leave me - even in this scorching English heat. Who am I kidding..?

LAST year the only denim item in my wardrobe was a pair of well-loved black skinnies (complete with one too many rips) and leather was the main topic of interest. Fast forward one year and - whilst I'm still in the leathers and donning the ripped knees - my collection of jeans has grown almost exponentially. Inevitable for a girl with over seventy jackets, sure, but you wouldn't believe who makes my perfect pair. Acne? Nope. Allsaints? Not quite. Try Abercrombie & Fitch.
Whilst I will admit that I don't often venture into their physical stores, I have become partial to eyeing up the odd sweater and essential basic online. But the best thing they offer? The jeans. Not only are they a seriously good quality product for a insane price (which means I can pay my rent for once), but the waistband never digs in or sits awkwardly so it's always flattering - which means no more muffin top and no more yanking up my jeans in the middle of street (which you know, happens a lot when you're the size of an eight year old). I've fallen in love with the A+F super skinnies in the lighter blue, but there's practically every other wash and colour you could ever want on site and in store. That denim collection I mentioned? It's about to get a whole lot bigger.
