I think it's just about any girl's dream to go to Paris. Most girls head there for the Eiffel Tower and the romance. Me? I traveled to a different country for stinky cheese and cheap wine. Monoprix? What an absolute game-changer. Good job France.
As well as my super market sight seeing, I did of course make my way to a few of the more touristy spots such as the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysee and ahem, Sephora (haul coming soon obv) but my main objective for being in the big city was to quite simply shoot an entire shop filled with soap. Really nice soap, though. Okay, maybe I need to get a little better at explaining myself here. What can I say? It's been a while.
So as some of you may know, I'm a content creator for Vidsy, which is essentially an online platform that hires out creators for brand work. They accept you onto a brief, you make a few short film clips for social media, they send it to the brands and you get a nice lump of cash at the end of it.
This time around, the brief was for Dove's new pop up store in Paris, where they had a station that allows you to personalise your own soaps as well as a station that allows you to mix and personalise your own products. I came out of that shop with the smoothest skin and more soap than I knew what to do with. Seriously, I must have looked like some sort of soap smuggling bandit when going through customs. Thankfully the boyfriend managed to persuade me to not bring 8 rounds of brie across the border - otherwise I would have definitely looked like I'd lost the plot.
They say a picture tells a thousand words, but let's face it, a whirlwind trip like this is way more exciting when you actually get to come along with me. So - for now at least - I'll leave you with a few shots of what I wore during my trip. As for the fun stuff - stay tuned for the vlog over on my Youtube channel!
