The big beauty drawer detox

Last month I decided to give my wardrobe a re-vamp, which soon ended up in me getting rid of (or more lovingly put, detoxing) almost half of my wearable posessions. It felt pretty damn good - I'm not gonna lie. There was something incredibly satisfying about being able to say 'I don't need that' over and over again about different material things. Then it dawned on me that maybe my entire life needed a bit of a detox - so I headed straight to my makeup collection AKA the drawers of doom. I mean, where else?

So I swatched and I swatched and I swatched. I checked expiry dates and I separated all the cute makeup from the clown makeup (seriously, when am I ever going to wear neon pink eyeshadow?). I filled our entire bedroom with piles of beige liquid and brown powders and I ended up with...still more makeup than I'll ever need. Okay, so this time the detox was more of a crash diet than anything else, but at least it's a start! Either way, the lovely people at Give and Makeup will be getting a hefty parcel from me sometime soon. Just you wait until the next beauty drawer detox..maybe next time we can cut that collection half..
