Luxe Beauty Christmas Gift Guide

Christmas Luxury Beauty Gift Guide

So in order to fulfill my blogger duties I've of course decided to put together a bunch of my fave high-end beauty products and gift sets that would make the perfect present for just about anyone. Or, uh, yourself. It includes everything from almost-edible eyeshadows to a vault of 20+ lipsticks by the babes over at NYX. All of my favourites are listed down below where I've tried to find the best prices possible, but for even more sales be sure to check out Woznow - a website that lists all of the sales on one single site. I'm kind of addicted right now. And kinda broke..

I love Christmas for multiple reasons (and by that I mean, multiple snacks and bottles of wine) but one of my favourite things in the lead up to the big day is discovering all of the new beauty launches that my favourite brands come out with. I mean, come on, this year Too Faced have come out with a gift set in the shape of a Parisian cafe that contains an eggnog scented palette. Is that not the most ridiculously (and deliciously) brilliant thing ever? I'm gifting that bad boy to myself this year. My eyelids are going to smell so, so good.

My not-so-basic wardrobe essentials

Every year I trial (and sometimes fail at) a variety of different trends, and every year a few of those trends manage to make their way into my not-so-capsule wardrobe. This time last year I was coveting baggy beanie hats, slip on sneakers and questionable culottes, whereas this year I'm favouring feminine shapes and - wait for it - super floaty dresses. Oh the difference a year can make.

Having this blog has done a lot of good for me, but it's also allowed me to document every outfit (both the good and, ahem, the not so good) that I've sported over the past twenty four months. Almost exactly one year ag I posted a photo of myself wearing my first ever bardot top - a trend that has gradually made it's way into my every day wardrobe. The baggy beanies? Not so much.

As we start to say goodbye to summer and hello to winter I've decided to give you all a little run down of my favourite every day basics..that maybe aren't so basic after all..

BARDOT TOPS

It's no secret that I've been loving bardot tops as of late (#shouldercleavage) - they look good, they're comfortable, and they allow me to show a bit of skin without freezing to death in this not-so-sunny British summer time. This winter I'll be layering them up underneath jumpsuits and pinafore dresses to really bring down that cost per wear..

moto jackets

Leather jackets have always been a staple of mine, but it soon dawned on me - after realising most of my outfits have started to look the same - that maybe I need a few colour variations to prove that I do in fact own more than one jacket. Currently working on one jacket for each colour of the rainbow.

JUMPER DRESSES

The only thing better than a big fat comfy jumper..is a big fat comfy jumper dress that does all the hard work for you. I love anything that I can throw on in a second and make an outfit out of. You can chuck them over your every day outfit or style them up in the evening with bare legs and a big chunky pair of knee high boots.

WESTERN BOOTS

The real reason for my love of big chunky western boots? You can layer up on the socks and no one will ever know. Granted, I also love how they look when paired with girly boho dresses and/or skin-tight skinny jeans, but when it comes to the winter it's the comfy-factor that gets a thumbs up from me. Plus bigger boots = skinnier looking legs. Bonus.

LITTLE WHITE DRESSES

There once was a time in my life when the only form of dress I'd wear would be some form of LBD, but lately I feel like little black dresses are just far too formal for every day. Whenever I'm stuck for an outfit to wear I almost always opt for something light. white and floaty. Bonus points if it's a bardot dress. Extra bonus points if I pair it with a moto jacket and biker boots.

Summer style must-haves

Summer is one of those seasons where I feel like you can really go wild with your style. There's holiday glam, festival chic, beach babe. I mean, you can pretty much rock a new look every day of the week if you fancy it. And if you do, well, we all know what that means: lots and lots of shopping.

I don't know how I can justify even calling this season a 'summer' here in the UK, since we appear to have only had approximately 13 hours of sunshine since, well, the last millenium. But, I still remain hopeful that - sometime over the next six months - we might in fact end up with at least a few days of sunshine. And so in preparation for my 'hopeful heatwave' I've apparently decided to stock up on enough summer staples to keep me, uh, clothed up until the next millenium.

And so, after all this shopping (and by that I mean 'market research') I've decided to share with you some of my fave summer staples that you can rock rain or shine. But let's face it, you might wanna stock up on an umbrella while you're at it, too..

KNEE HIGH LACE UP SANDALS

I love lace up sandals, but they're not always the most practical type of footwear since they tend to fall down every two seconds. The trick? Zip up sandals! Just as cool, but way more practical.

FLOATY BARDOT TOPS

What was my life before floaty bardot tops? I don't even remember a time when I didn't have 55,000 bardots sitting in my wardrobe. But you know, I still need more.

EYELASH TRIM CAMI TOPS

I find it difficult to look sexy when I'm sweating like mad and covered in mosquito bites, but eyelash trim camisole tops definitely help my lacking sex appeal situation.

EMBROIDERED BOHO DRESSES

I love summer for the fact that I'm able to chuck on one item of clothing and look somewhat put together. Lately, all I've been wearing are boho dresses. Picture proof above.

TASSEL BUCKET BAGS

When I'm dressed head to toe in boho, it seems only fitting that I go boho on my baggage as well. Bucket bags are big enough to chuck in my camera, but small enough too look cute as hell.

CROCHET PLAYSUITS

Similar to dresses, I love playsuits for the fat that I can chuck one on without a worry. They're also a lot more practical than dresses, which is a plus for the festival season.

REVOLVE 15% off sale picks

If you guys follow me over on Instagram (@cocochicblog) you'll have noticed the website 'REVOLVE' cropping up every so often on my outfit pictures. I get so many questions regarding where I get my clothes and - apart from the usual high street stores - it's almost always REVOLVE. In fact, I think it's safe to say that I have REVOLVE to thank for my not-so-subtle style transformation as of late (if you're new here, hello, I used to wear tracksuit bottoms and trainers on the daily). So naturally when I received the memo that they were having a 15% off sale for us Brits I thought it was probably about time I shared with you guys some of my favourite pieces from my favourite brands such as Tularosa and Lovers + Friends. And so, here they are! Shop the pictures below by simply clicking on them (you know the drill) and enter 'TAKE15' in the promo code section at the checkout to save that moolah. Goodbye, last month's earnings. It's been fun.

The best bardot tops for under £20

The best bardot tops for under £20
The best budget bardot tops for under £20

I love a good bit of cleavage. Boob cleavage, ankle cleavage - all kinds of cleavage. But recently I've been enjoying having my shoulders on show and so I feel like I've become a bit of a budget bardot connoisseur, if I do say so myself. I mean, what could be better than a top that allows you to go braless (cheeky), go without shaving your arm pits (guilty) all whilst making you look really put together and sophisticated when - if you're anything like me - is the exact opposite of what you really are. Even better when they cost less than £20.
