I'm sure I've mentioned it hundreds of times, but when it comes down to having my picture taken I'm a complete awkward turtle, so when an email from John Lewis popped up in my inbox asking me to come up to London and do a shoot with them the nerves started rolling in. But obviously, when John Lewis asks, I do. So a few weeks ago I hopped on a coach (at 1am, gulp) and travelled up to London for a shoot with fellow blogger gals Lois and Victoria.
The day started off with a breakfast of macarons, cupcakes and pastries. Completely healthy obvz. After finally being dragged away from about my 84th cupcake we ran down to the Clarins counter to get our faces made up and the GHD stand to get our hurr did. An hour later (what? I've got a lot of hair!) and I came out looking like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (humour me here people). Then it was onto the outfit styling.
The focus around the shoot was to gain an overview of the John Lewis styling services and to be introduced to different pieces available in store. As you can imagine, when I was told that I was going to be 'taken out of my monochromatic comfort zone' I was a little uneasy as to what they were going to put me. A gold sequin dress? Yeah, that happened (but you'll have to wait until the pictures are up on the website to see that) - a pink fur coat? That bad boy happened to be one of my favourite things in-store (apart from the mega-babe Ms Kirsty who styled yours truly).
The photos themselves were shot by the lovely Holly McGlynn, and the nerves weren't actually too bad considering I had to get my pose on in front of a restraunt full of people, but I'm sure the glass of champage - or two - helped me along nicely..
Would love to know what you guys think of the snaps we took! It's completely different to what I'm used to, but hey, sometimes it's good to try new things. Not sure I'll be spending an hour in hair and makeup every day from now on though - maybe that'll be saved for more special occassions..
