Three consecutive outfit posts? I really am on a roll here. Today I'm talking city hotspots in collaboration with Bank Fashion - they've asked me to jot down a selection of my favourite places in my local area that you all need to know about. Of course, there's something food-related thrown in for good measure (and I may or may not have been there for a few hours last night). Unlike a lot of bloggers, my location is now pretty rural, and I know live in the only 'city' in Cornwall called Truro, which is pretty much only considered a city because it has a Cathedral. So, if you find yourself in my neck of the woods here are a few places you just have to check out..
Where else would I start? If there's one place I can never say no to it's Hub Box - aka the best burger place ever. It started out as a resteraunt in St Ives, then a little pop-up crate (it literally was a crate) showed up in Truro and was probably the city's biggest attraction. Now, they've set up shop permanently in the most deliciously hipster building ever. Think retro signs, metal trays as plates and a lot of good beer. If you're heading over I 100% suggest the Boston Butt burger - it's the best pulled pork you'll ever have (and I'm not just saying that because my neighbour gives me discount now)..
Like most places, Truro has a Starbucks, Costa, Cafe Nero...blah blah blah. They're all good when you're in need of a caffiene fix, but my favourite place to sit and get some work done has to be Coffee 108. I discovered it when I moved to Truro and was in need of some decent wi-fi before ours was up and running, and during that wi-fi hunt I found the best iced lattes in town. Literally. I'm pretty sure I've tried them all. The staff are so so nice as well and you never feel like you're being that annoying customer that sits on their laptop all day - it's just that chilled out.
I'll admit, Cornwall isn't that great for shopping. I mean, we don't even have a Zara? Horrendous. That being said, there are a few little gems in my town that need a bit of a shout out. For starters, Uneeka! There are a few stores around here I think, but I prefer Uneeka Life, which is just down the road from me. It's pricey, but that place stocks so many gorgeous things ranging from plates to notebooks to fragrance. Whenever I walk past they always have the best window displays too. And for more generic shops? Head to TK Maxx. No, really. Down here in Cornwall, I've noticed the beauty sections are barely touched unlike those in bigger cities. The other week I went in to find around fifty (!!) NEOM products just sitting there looking at me and way too many OPI polishes to count. Heaven.
